A Dog’s Tale

Pleasant and Lydia Vesey live a strange life, which they share with several “pets” who mysteriously come to board. Within the walls of their old Victorian home, fetishes roam freely and reality is constantly shifting. The newest boarder is John, sullen and somewhat ridiculous, who comes to stay, but finds himself wrestling with his own mortality and finds he cannot succumb to the temptation of a docile life, whereas Pleasant, facing his mortality gravitates towards it. As the three become enmeshed, Lydia blossoms as she finds a way to keep her marriage intact, while adapting to her changing world with complete gusto. A Dog’s Tale embraces fifty as the new thirty, sixty as the new forty and shows us that a mid-life crisis can strike like a thief in the night. It’s a celebration of life as ephemeral art and assumes a world where aging is a fact, but getting old is a choice.
