It’s the musical that’s been a favorite for generations. The Sound of Music, the true story of a free-spirited postulate who unwittingly wins the hearts of the von Trapp children and their father, is live on stage at Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre. Set in Austria in 1938, The Sound of Music tells about a detour on Maria Rainer’s journey to become a nun. Recognizing that Maria is not yet ready for religious life, Mother Abbess sends her to be the governess for the seven children of a widowed naval officer. Finding the household is run like a naval vessel, Maria introduces stories and songs to the children. Her actions shock their father, Captain Georg von Trapp, but they soften his heart, too.
The tickets include Chef Odell Ward’s specially prepared dinner buffet and the show.
