About This Show

This true-life contemporary Indian story is inspired a man who was wrongly declared legally dead, lost all his rights, and fought to reclaim his identity. From a small village, this Indian man Gopal Masra arrives in the capital to discover his corrupt brother has stolen his possessions and life. The Masrayana combines story theatre narrative with South Asian classical dance and music to create a warm, richly humane and universal modern saga (which is yana in Sanskrit, coupled with the last name of Masra).
