The Madness of Edgar Allan Poe: A Love Story

About the Show

The Madness of Edgar Allan Poe: A Love Story leads off the indoor portion of First Folio’s 10th anniversary season. The production brings Poe’s macabre and melancholic tales and poems to life as audience members move from room to room. Poe and his beloved wife, Virginia, guide audience members through historic Mayslake Hall, taking them from the garrets to the dungeons and deep into the madness of Edgar Allan Poe. Moving throughout the mansion, you experience such tales of madness as “The Tell-Tale Heart,” “The Pit and the Pendulum,” “Ligeia,” and “The Masque of the Red Death.” Poe’s own performances will include his poems “The Bells” and “Annabelle Lee.”

There is no matinee performance on October 21.

ADDITIONAL DATES: Sunday, Oct. 15, Thursday, Oct. 19, & Sunday, Oct. 22 @ 8:00
