Winner of the National Jewish Book Award. Hannah Stern is tired of learning about the Holocaust and her family history. However, on Passover, when Hannah is asked to open the door for Elijah, she’s transported to a Polish Jewish village during World War II. It’s not long before she realizes what year it is and what is about to happen to the village. It is on this remarkable journey that Hannah will come to understand the importance of her family history.
