About This Show

A city, two families, and a hatred so old that no one can remember its cause, sets the scene for Chicago Shakespeare’s production of Short Shakespeare! Romeo and Juliet. Shakespeare sets his story of young love in a culture of old hatreds. Words express and ignite both passions, but when words can no longer be found, swords take their place. This 75-minute production is followed by a 15-minute discussion with the entire company of actors.
