Orphans

Lyle Kessler’s bittersweet fable, set in a ramshackle North Philadelphia row house, follows two orphaned adult brothers, Treat and Phillip, who cobble together a meager existence funded by the eldest’s career of petty robberies. When Treat kidnaps one of his victims, a captivating gangster-like character from Chicago, the delicate balance of the one brother’s control and the other’s trust is fractured in this alternately tender and fierce tragicomedy.
