In this modern day retelling of The Scarlet Letter, Hester La Negrita lives with her five children under a bridge in the inner city. As the play opens, her eldest child is teaching her to write, but the only letter she’s able to understand so far is the letter “A.” Michael Matthews directs In the Blood by Pulitzer Prize winner Suzan-Lori Parks.
