Hamlet Dreams is a visceral new adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Hamlet,” produced with assistance from the International Center on Deafness and the Arts. This production is presented in spoken English and American Sign Language, and looks at this familiar story through the lens of deaf culture. Starting with Hamlet’s letter to Ophelia, Hamlet Dreams takes a new look at his powerful love for Ophelia, his relationship with his deaf parents Gertrude and the late King Hamlet, and the strained relationship with his hearing stepfather Claudius.Running Time: 1 hour and 40 minutes with no intermission
