Absurdity runs wild on the streets of St. Petersburg in two classic Nikolai Gogol stories: "Nose" and "Overcoat." The two stories featured in Piven Theatre’s production are truly masterpieces of the absurd. "Nose" tells the fantastical story of a man who discovers his nose has vanished overnight, and his farcical pursuit to reclaim it. "Overcoat" is at once a poignant and a sharply satirical tale of a poor bureaucrat who sacrifices what little he has in order to buy a magnificent winter coat–and winds up paying an even greater price.
