The Boxer Rebellion Theatre Co. ends its highly successful season with David E. Freeman’s Creeps. This play is about the plight of five men with cerebral palsy. While trapped in a Zolaesque sweatshop that masquerades as a rehabilitation center, the men set about their quest for dignity and freedom. Creeps examines the fears that keep us all stuck in our cycles, and, our subconscious need to release ourselves from the traps that we hold ourselves in. Freeman, who has cerebral palsy, wrote this play from his own experiences and won both the Drama Desk and Chalmers Awards for his efforts.
