About This Show

Often referred to as a contemporary riff on Thornton Wilder’s Our Town, written almost a century later, Will Eno’s Middletown shares the theme of exploring the universe of small town life in America. Despite its other similarity to the classic in its theatrical style, Middletown is much more brutally honest, and takes an insightful look at the subtle despair that lives at the edges of contemporary life. As a friendship develops between longtime resident John Dodge and new arrival Mary Swanson, the lives of the inhabitants of Middletown intersect in strange and poignant ways in a journey that takes them from the local library to outer space and points in between. Join us in this deeply moving and funny play that reminds us of the joy and the subtle ache that permeates every life lived.

The Upper School cast and crew include: Adrian Castillo, Jack Faulk, Hailey Jane Frank, Evan Gregory, Jack Lovett, Daniela Laing, Madison Mann, Quentin Nicholson, Ryan Paschke, Ally Rodriguez, Norah Simon, and Caroline Thompson.
