Androcles and the Lion

For what are you willing to die? A new faith was born. A people arose who believed and worshipped the One True God. They would not recognize the assumed deity of the Emperor. They would not bow to the gods he claimed. The consequences of their exclusive faith condemned them to two choices–the lions, or the gladiators–with the same result: certain death. Wars of intellect turn into battles of blood and heroic martyrdom in the arenas of Truth and faith. In the classic literature of Shaw, we are reminded of the extreme courage of faith, and that even the smallest of good deeds does not go unnoticed.
