TAMPA
Clase mela, the latest hit from El Águila Descalza, comes to Tampa to CENTRO ASTURIANO DE TAMPA in 2025 to celebrate the 40 years of shared artistic life of Carlos Mario Aguirre and Cristina Toro
Clase mela is a comedy in which El Águila Descalza leafs through the family albums of a society that grew up on credit, going through adventures to rise in status, gain status, achieve cachet, escape from the mañé and prove to their critics that they are not “resurrected carangas.”
With the characteristic humor of the group formed by Carlos Mario Aguirre and Cristina Toro, El Águila Descalza proposes a class that embraces the concept of “melo,” a term that has recently become popular among younger generations to refer to the harmonious and melodious; a mela class that can achieve a state of completeness and tranquility by freeing oneself from the shackles that have forced people to live in a world of appearances, seeking approval at all costs, regardless of the sacrifices.
The work features an original soundtrack composed by Cristina Toro, with arrangements by Jonny Pasos, available on music platforms.
