Songs for a New World

Influenced by a broad range of musical genres including pop, gospel, jazz and classical music, the musical theater piece for five musicians and four singers moves across centuries to tell the story of Americans and those who would become Americans as they yearn for a better existence. The acclaimed score includes its centerpiece song “Stars and the Moon” which has been recorded by renowned singers Audra McDonald, Karen Akers and Betty Buckley.
