Gold Coast Opera presents Cavalleria Rusticana and Pagliacci in the Amaturo Theater.
Cavalleria Rusticana by Pietro Mascagni premiered in 1890 in Rome and is often double-billed with Pagliacci by Ruggero Leoncavallo. Jealousy, lust and malice are the themes of these two operas. This production features two one-act operas with full orchestra and the chorus direct from Europe has English subtitles and is performed under the baton of Thomas Cavendish, the company’s artistic director.
