About This Show

ShhhHAM-ILTON: A  Her-Story Parody Told from the viewpoint of the Schuylar Sisters

It's not about Hamilton you think you know, but she's the heroine we need to know. Surviving over scandal, forgiving after murder and doing it all with dignity. What is her-story?

Hamilton: An American Musical is a sung-and-rapped-through musical by Lin-Manuel Miranda. What Lin-Manuel failed to realize is the sham of a Founding Father, Alexander Hamilton was. A talented, intelligent, social climbing, baise garçon (fyck boi). The show draws heavily from hip hop, as well as R&B, pop, soul, and traditional-style show tunes. Keeping within the traditional art of Vaudeville, we will be presenting a pasquinade of satire, Burlesque and comedy to the story. In the original show, the story was truly Eliza Hamilton's; she told his-story.

In ShhhHAM-ILTON this is a parody story written by HonestlyNae and brought to The Clocktower by Melanated Ménagerie and The Chrysalis House LCA. With a cast of QBIPOC centering femme and other non-conforming/gender variant bodies.

In this spoof, it follows Eliza through New York, with her ups and downs in her marriage with Alexander, the aftermath of the tragic murder of her son, and finally the death of Alexander. Behind closed doors, she manages their expanding household, and assists her husband with his political writings. After the release of The Reynolds Pamphlet the public scandal, betrayal, personal heartbreak she endures causes her and Alexander to become estranged. The loss of their son Philip reignited her fierce devotion to Hamilton as well as personifying her grace. Once Alexander Hamilton died, Eliza’s indomitable strength made her not only Alexander’s most crucial ally in life, but also his most loyal advocate after his death, determined to preserve his legacy while pursuing her own extraordinary path through the nation they helped shape together.
