About This Show

Imagine. Dance numbers from some of the very best of Broadway-“Sweet Charity,” “Dancin’,” “Brigadoon,” “My One and Only,” “Carousel,” “The King and I” and “Singin’ in the Rain”-all together at one time on stage at The Ridgefield Playhouse. Presented by Connecticut Ballet, under the direction of Brett Raphael, the performance is a vivid “Tribute to Broadway” in every sense of the term. The shows represented are some of the best there are or have been with regard to dance on Broadway. Broadway music itself stands along, but with the addition of dancers, the message comes alive. “The Rich Man’s Frug”
from “Sweet Charity” (which opened with Gwen Verdon) takes place in the Pompeii Club at the beginning of that hit show-here the dancers are dancing the latest craze. Guest performers include singers Paris Cheffer and Culver Casson and tap dancers Beverly Ward, Kirby Ward and Colin Pritchard.
