About This Show

TheatreWorks’ Playreading series continues with Michael Christofer’s The Shadow Box. This thought-provoking and touching play centers on the last days of three terminally ill cancer patients. Their families and loved ones join them in a hospice in the woods in which each has a cottage. The members of each cottage explore their relationships, their successes and failures, and their mortality. The question is no longer IF they will die, or WHEN, but HOW. And what will they leave behind? This play deals directly with the delicate and difficult issues of dealing with the loss of loved ones, regrets of a lifetime, and accepting the end of life.
