Providing the public with a chance to see how actors progress from the page to the stage, TheatreWorks presents a staged reading of The Lying Kind, their upcoming holiday farce. The play follows hapless British Bobbies Blunt and Gobbel as they attempt to fulfill one last duty before finishing their Christmas Eve shift: inform the sweet old couple at No. 58 of some terrible news. But Blunt and Gobbel didn’t join the force to ruin people’s lives. Once inside the house, their total ineptitude and humane inability to tell the truth leads to an endless (and absolutely hilarious) series of misunderstandings.
The evening includes free refreshments, the chance to win tickets to opening night, and a Q&A session with the cast following the read-through of the play.
The Lying Kind is scheduled to officially open on December 1.
