Winner of Broadway’s Tony and Drama Critics Circle Awards for "Best Play" as well as London’s Olivier and Evening Standard Awards for "Best Comedy," Art is a wickedly witty portrait of modern art and old-fashioned friendships creating a conflict between friendships and values as three prosperous middle-aged, longtime American friends, living in Paris, come to blows over the value of a very expensive piece of art. According to Newsweek "…at times Art sounds like a marriage of Moliere and Woody Allen…hilarious (and) sneakily profound…"
Serge (played by Alexander Kulcsar of Fairfield) has purchased a work of art which has cost him nearly – two hundred thousand francs. His friend Marc (played by Pat Leo of Monroe) is loath to believe that any friend of his would spend so much money on what to him is merely a white canvas. Another friend, Yvan (played by Dan Arenovski of Milford), tries to calm the dispute between the other two, but while trying to appease both, ignites the quarrel which forces all three men to re-examine their friendship and the direction in which it is moving.
