About the Show

From the blast of the first trumpet to the last hot spotlight, it’s little wonder why Gypsy reigns as one of the greatest Broadway musicals of the 20th century. Based on the memoirs of burlesque entertainer Gypsy Rose Lee, Gypsy tells the story of an overbearing stage mother who is determined to make her girls into stars of vaudeville. Set against the freewheeling days of vaudeville and burlesque, Gypsy explores ambition, jealousy, family relationships, and the bittersweet loss of innocence.

Written by three virtuosos of American musical theater (Arthur Laurents, Jule Styne and Stephen Sondheim) Gypsy features some of the biggest songs in Broadway history, including "Everything’s Coming Up Roses", "Rose’s Turn", "Some People", and "Together, Wherever We Go".
