Shadow Theatre Company celebrates Black History Month with Paul Robeson, written by Phillip Hayes Dean and directed by Michael R. Duran. Paul Robeson’s powerful voice lead him to acting and during the 1930s he becomes the first African American movie star and the most famous Othello of his generation. Stardom, with all the accolades due a master, leads him around the world as a spokesman for human rights–until, in the 1950s, the U.S. Government revokes his passport. Few have lived such a rich, complex, and heroic life.
