When Tom, a jaded divorcé, decides to try his luck with online dating, his gorgeous mystery date, Amy, seems too good to be true. But when he finds out that she’s actually a born-again Christian using online dating sites to spread the gospel, he makes a b-line for the door. Amy, however, pleads with him to stay and hear her witness, and Tom agrees on one condition: if he’s not converted before the check arrives, she has to foot the dinner bill.
As Amy gives her testimony, Tom, a stout atheist, challenges her blind notions of faith at every turn, and soon their romantic table for two becomes a heated battleground of ideology. As the battle ensues, however, both Tom and Amy realize that they may have more to offer each other than religious debate.
As insights are shared, and secrets from their pasts are revealed, the wall between skeptic and believer slowly begins to crumble. Ultimately, both Tom and Amy must choose to overcome their troubled pasts and find the courage to redefine their ideas of fulfillment.
