New York City
Suspended in the world of "Steampunk" subculture, this adaptation of Shakespeare’s crowd pleasing comedy features the universal themes of love, honor and betrayal. The action is set against a chess game background, which highlights the play’s main theme of human duplicity and, in typical GroundUp fashion, gender roles are blurred as a male is featured in the role of Hero. This family-friendly, 90-minute version of Much Ado About Nothing is a great introduction to Shakespeare as well as a new take on a classic comedy. Patrons are encouraged to bring picnics, blankets and/or chairs to this outdoor production.
