Boy Gets Girl

The Goodman Theatre continues their 1999-2000 Mainstage Series with the world premiere of Rebecca Gilman’s BOY GETS GIRL. The play begins with a blind date. Theresa, an accomplished reporter, is set up with Tony by a mutual acquaintance. They meet for a beer, and things seem to be going okay, or so she thinks. Then the phone calls started. And the flowers. And the unannounced visits. And the creeping realization that Tony just wouldn’t take “no” for an answer. This production is the study of one terrifying incident that takes an unflinching look at the forces that craft our perception of women today.
