About This Show

Composer-lyricist Stephen Sondheim and director Harold Prince reunite at the Goodman for the world premiere of Bounce, featuring a book by John Weidman. Bounce is the story of Addison and Wilson Mizner, brothers born into a late-19th century America which seemed to offer them a life of limitless adventures and boundless opportunities – if only they had the energy and audacity to sieze them. From the Gold Rush in Alaska to the land boom in Florida, the Mizner Brothers tumbled through a country still writing and rewriting the rules by which it would choose to live. Addison and Wilson tried a little bit of everything, cheerfully reinventing themselves as prospectors, gamblers, entrepreneurs, con men, and visionary artists. Bounce is their brash, boisterous epitaph, a story which may resonate, more than a little, with the fever dreams of risk, riches and disaster which dominate the business pages of today’s newspapers.
