About This Show

Enter the stunning, lyrical world of legendary poet Gwendolyn MacEwen. Mythmaker and magician, MacEwen was known for more than the beauty and inventiveness of her work. She defied cultural norms, and with her counterparts, challenged the notion that creativity is a male pursuit.
Inspired by MacEwen’s The T.E. Lawrence Poems, Claudia Dey’s The Gwendolyn Poems charts MacEwen’s rise as a poet in Toronto in the 1960s, her passionate love
affairs with Milton Acorn and Nikos Tsingos, and her final struggle against the death of poetry at the end of the twentieth century.
