About the Show

In 1941, the German physicist Werner Heisenberg made a mysterious visit to Copenhagen to see his Danish counterpart, Niels Bohr. They were old friends and their work together had opened the way toward nuclear fission. But now they were on opposite sides in a world war and the race was on to develop the atomic bomb. Scientists and historians have argued ever since about why Heisenberg made his unexpected and mysterious visit, and what the two men said.

Michael Frayn’s Copenhagen has captivated audiences in London and New York and has been hailed as one of the greatest dramas of the century.
