About the Show

Consecrated Ground is a fictional dramatization of a significant but little-known chapter in recent Canadian history: the true story of Africville, Nova Scotia. It was written by Governor General Award Nominee George Boyd. Boyd originally wrote Consecrated Ground as a teleplay and is the author of Gideon’s Blues.

Filled with music, Consecrated Ground is ” a powerful, beautifully written drama that makes you laugh and cry.”
