Lorraine Kimsa Theatre for Young People presents the English world premiere of Blue Planet, a captivating and thought-provoking adventure based on the popular children’s book by Icelandic award-winning author, Andri Snær Magnason. Originally staged at the National Theatre of Iceland, Blue Planet makes its North American debut.
On the Blue Planet there are no adults, only wild children. One day a captivating, outerspace salesman, Jolly Goodday, lands on the planet. He sells the children the ability to fly by using the dust from butterflies’ wings. For a special offer price, he fixes the sun to the sky with a large nail and covers the children with teflon wonderstuff so they don’t need to bathe any more and can fly all the time. The children are thrilled with their purchase. But in a great flying competition, two children are swept by the wind to the other side of the Blue Planet, where now darkness reigns. A perilous adventure ensues, where the children’s friendship and ingenuity are put to the test as never before as they discover the impact their actions have on the other side of the planet.
