Vincent In Brixton

About the Show

Following the early years of Vincent Van Gogh, not the artist who cut off his ear or painted the sunflowers, but the intense young man struggling to find himself, Vincent in Brixton recalls the first steps on a journey to immortality. Conflicted about whether to follow the constraints of his Dutch Calvinist backgrounds or the instinctive yearnings of his soul, the youthful, romantically inexperienced Vincent finds clarity and direction when he rents a room from an English widow many years his senior, to whom he is inexplicably drawn, and changes his destiny forever. Chronicling the transforming effect of love, sex, and artistic adventure on embryonic talent, Vincent in Brixton retraces the birth of genius. Kent Nicholson directs.Additional shows on Tuesdays March 15 and 22 at 7:30PM, Saturdays March 19 and 26 at 2PM, and Sunday April 3 at 2PM.
