About This Show

The Aurora Theatre Company, in collaboration with The Pacific Mozart Ensemble, presents a stirring escape from traditional holiday theatre fare with The Play of Daniel. This 12th century liturgical gem, one of the most sophisticated dramas composed in the Middle Ages, sets the biblical story of Daniel in the lions’ den to movement and music. Renowned medieval theatre scholar Dunbar Ogden directs this rare staging, along with The Pacific Mozart Ensemble Musical Director Richard Grant. Featured Dutch vocalist Henk Verhoef and a cast of 50 perform this show in Latin with supertitles.
