The Mary Magdalene Story

About the Show

A musical comedy modern translation of the Gospel of Mary Magdala as seen through the eyes of 50’s rockabilly singer Marlene, The Mary Magdalene Story features a bevy of traditional biblical characters, and some not so traditional characters, including a pious Jewish follower, an Egyptian Goddess initiate, a prostitute, and a present day female rapper; all passionately, and hilariously played by the multi-talented Katie Ketchum.
Ketchum is a National Endowment for the Arts recipient who began her performing career as a piano and composition student at the Royal Conservatory of Music where she won several competitions sponsored by Her Majesty, The Queen. Her albums have garnered a unique following, including Mother Teresa, who played Ketchum’s music in her healing centers throughout India.
