About the Show

The acclaimed musical biography of Noël Coward and Gertrude Lawrence devised by Sheridan Morley, Noël and Gertie follows the loving, lifelong symbiotic relationship between these two theatre royals from the time they meet as child actors until Coward learned of Lawrence’s death in the mid-’50s. Noël and Gertie features many of the most popular scenes from Coward’s work, including the balcony scene from Private Lives, and extracts from Blithe Spirit, Brief Encounter, and his hilarious homage to vaudeville – Red Peppers. It also features more than a dozen musical numbers from Coward’s extensive canon, ranging from the tender romanticism of Someday I’ll Find You and I’ll See You Again to the corrugating wit of Mrs. Worthington and Why Must the Show Go On?
