Transplanting Hans Christian Andersen’s famous Little Mermaid to a war-torn industrial bay, Erik Ehn’s Maid explodes the fairy tale we are all familiar with, taking audiences on a journey into the depths of the sea, and the depths of our most secret desires. Crowded Fire’s production features a water-covered stage with every audience member seated in the first row for an in-the-round staging.
