Shotgun Theatre Lab presents Frankie & Johnny. One thing about this story is certain: on October 15, 1899, a young black prostitute in St. Louis shot her pimp in their bedroom on Targee Street. He died a few days later. Her name was Frankie Baker. The world knows him as Johnny. The other thing most people know about these unfortunates: he was her man, but he done her wrong.
