Anton in Show Business

Anton in Show Business takes a riotous detour backstage when three star-crossed actresses – a TV soap opera goddess, a jaded veteran of off-off Broadway, and a naive third-grade schoolteacher – find themselves in San Antonio, Texas starring in an ill-conceived production of Chekhov’s The Three Sisters. Throughout the comic twists and turns, Playwright Jane Martin pokes good fun at imperious directors, impassive funders, impossible critics, and even, imperfect audiences – all searching for the answer to that primal question: “Why theatre”?
