A gay 15-year old boy in an East Texas town is murdered. Set on the day of his funeral, A Boy Called Noise, shows the struggle of each of his family members as they react to the injustice of his murder, question their own responsibility and reflect on who he was in their lives. In this one-woman rock theater piece, Julia Steele Allen portrays Noise’s father, mother, sister, lover and cousin through song and story with humor and tragedy, and asks the question: What does it take for us to respond to injustice with action?
