You Never Can Tell

About the Show

Set on the English seacoast in the late 1800’s, You Never Can Tell features the escapades of two teen-aged twins, their beautiful older sister, their missing father, their liberated mother, and a lovesick dentist, all meeting in the most unorthodox of family reunions.

It has been said that George Bernard Shaw began writing plays to express his views on society, which he believed could help "save the world from itself." Although written in the same spirit as his more popular Pygmalion, You Never Can Tell still contains many topics that were considered progressive at the time. Using wit and clever insight, Shaw conveys his thoughts on women’s liberation, the idiosyncrasies of a class system, and the misbehavior of the younger generation.
