About the Show

Horton Foote’s The Trip to Bountiful is the story of Carrie Watts, an aging widow living with her son and daughter-in-law in a three-room flat in Houston, Texas. Fear that her presence may impose on others, Mrs. Watts imagines that she can regain her peace of mind by running away to her childhood home in the town of Bountiful. But a sheriff twarts her journey along the way.
