The Sand Storm: Stories from the Front is a theatre performance composed of 10 chilling monologues inspired by playwright Sean Huze’s experiences as a U.S. Marine in Iraq. These first hand accounts of the war, acted by veterans and actors, expose the rage, honor, courage, commitment, doubt, and fear as experienced by service men who have been in combat. These are their stories. These are their voices.
The Soldiers Project is a non-profit group of volunteer licensed psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and marriage and family therapists that provides free, confidential counseling to military service members of the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts and their extended families. It is a component of the Ernest S. Lawrence Trauma Center of the Los Angeles Institute and Society for Psychoanalytic Studies. There are similar groups in Chicago, New York and Seattle.
