The Callaborators

The Collaborators is a political allegory which takes place in an unnamed country during a revolution. Franco, a key operative in the revolution, has fled to the mountains with Sophia, a party member with questionable motives. The play is a tale of intrigue, espionage and secret identities which examines and expands political, personal and theatrical boundaries.

The play was written in 1944 by Francesco Ormini, a member of the Italian resistance during World War II. Semi-autobiographical in nature, Ormini scripted the play while hiding out in a military outpost in the Swiss Alps. It was performed only once before, in 1944, around a campfire for an audience of dissidents and refugees.

The upcoming production, directed by Don Metzger will be the first time the play has been staged for a modern audience.
