About the Show
Every year, LA Weekly produces Los Angeles Theater’s most anticipated event — the LA Weekly Theater Awards. Celebrating and recognizing those individuals who contribute to and create theater in Los Angeles, the LA Weekly Theater Awards unite LA’s diverse theater companies for a night of tributes, respect and irreverence.
Hosted by Blank Theater Company, the 2006 LA Weekly Theater Awards recalls the optimism and exuberance of the late-1920s, with a party to match the time — sexy, salacious and formal. The best of LA’s vibrant, active, Theater Community will be on-hand to honor the year’s best performances and productions from the more than 250 intimate theaters in Los Angeles.
The event takes place at the Henry Fonda Theater, a classic Hollywood venue, which has Cabaret seating downstairs at several tables in the orchestra level, with standing room areas along the perimeter and theater seating in the balcony. The venue also features a beautiful lobby with room for product display and information tables as well as a roof-top patio where the LA Weekly Theater Awards After-Party will be held.
