The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee pits 10 contestants (six actors plus four brave volunteers from the audience) against each other in a tuneful battle to win the highly-sought-after local spelling competition. Along the way, the competitors discover that winning isn’t everything. The New York Times calls this charming new musical “riotously funny and remarkably ingenious.” It has music and lyrics by Tony Award-winner William Finn.
