Slavery

Slavery combines the oral and musical traditions of slavery in the United States before, during, and after the Civil War. The performance is based on 1930s interviews of former slaves done by the Federal Writer’s Project of the Works Progress Administration. The piece is adapted, arranged, and written by Jonathon Payne.

There are no performances on Friday, August 23 or Sunday, August 25.
