The West Coast Premiere of Charles Busch’s free wheeling satire of pre-Hayes code 1930’s film noir recounts the story of a sassy young beauty, Lady Sylvia Allington, who has been sent to Shanghai to retrieve a jade statuette and has a notorious steamy affair with a mysterious warlord while becoming ensnared in an exotic world of opium, drug smuggling and white slavery. This spoof of 1930’s oriental melodramas stars R. Christofer Sands as Lady Sylvia and is directed by Ken Salzman.
