About the Show

This classic play takes us inside the walls of a state mental hospital in the 1960s. Over 40 years later, we find that both the system and the human experiences are as strikingly similar and relevant today, as when Kesey and Wasserman first wrote them.
Artistic Director Macario Gaxiola directs a cast of 16 actors in this ensemble piece. “Not one character in this play can be dismissed,” Gaxiola explained, “the personal struggles, demons and strengths of each character, mirror one another, and provide us with a reflection of our society.” He continued, “this play remains accessible to audiences because it examines the ‘fried eggs’ of our society, and reveals our similarities to them, rather than our differences.”
