Marks on The Water

About the Show

Thomas Eakins’ passion for life, art and education brought him into direct conflict with the prevailing views of society at this time. Most of his troubles related to the repressed sexuality of the age. The play moves through the years 1890 and 1897 and deals with the painter’s life after the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts had forced Eakins out over his teaching methods. This drama is presented by Ark Theater Company.
