Killers is playwright John Olive’s homage to the novels of pulp writers Jim Thompson and Charles Bukowski, and to the music of jazz artist John Coltrane — the three great poets of American loneliness. Punctuated by the driving staccato of an incessant Underwood typewriter, Killers chronicles the long sleepless nights and murderous doings inside a seedy rooming house in a midwestern city in the 1950’s. Traveling incognito, thriller writer Charles Blackwell is struggling for an ending to his book while all around him a more sinister plot is unfolding.
